Corporate Social Responsibility
At CWJ we take our responsibilities for our people, our environment and the community in which we live and work seriously.
All staff are important to our business and we believe that they should be well cared for. Our aim is to support staff to fulfil their potential and to support them in their efforts to contribute responsibly to society.
Our local community
Our aim is to make a positive difference to the local community in which we live and work. We support the local community in a range of projects and encourage everyone at CWJ to participate in community and charity projects.
For the last three years we have been supporting the Kentish Killer, an annual sportive organised by GS Avanti. Alex Wormald, a partner in CWJ's Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence department has taken part and in February 2017 let us film him as he endured this gruelling event.
In 2015 we won the prize for Best Community Contribution at the LawNet awards. LawNet appreciated our CSR strategy; putting us at the heart of the local community, with fundraising and skills-sharing that is supporting our community partners and also boosting staff morale.
Our charity of the year
Each year the firm supports a main charity, which becomes the focus for our fundraising and sponsorship activities. This year we are supporting The Maypole Project, an Orpington based charity which raises vital funds for children with complex medical needs and their families. www.themaypoleproject.co.uk
We conduct our business in a way which minimises our consumption of natural resources and manages waste through responsible disposal and the reuse and recycling of material where economically feasible.
