Medical Partnerships
The BMA has advised all practices to enter into written Partnership Agreements. In the light of the new GMS Contract, many GPs are evaluating and reviewing their Agreements. In any event, there is a danger that, if left untouched, these may not provide sufficient flexibility to match the requirements of the new regime.
In addition, Partners are responsible for managing their own Partnerships – so, if a GP retires or dies or a new GP joins a practice, a written agreement is important to ensure that the practice not only performs under the GMS Contract but also has an agreed agenda to follow.
It has therefore become vital for GPs to review their Partnership Agreements and to seek advice from solicitors having expertise in this area.

We have many GP clients in Kent and the South East. Our expertise is, in fact, recognised on a nationwide basis as the firm and Michael North, who has for some time been regarded as a leading practitioner in this field, are both featured in the Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession.
We have adopted an established procedure to prepare Partnership Agreements based on the completion of a questionnaire. On receipt of a completed questionnaire, we will give a firm estimate of the fees involved to prepare a draft Agreement.
In addition to the drafting of Partnership Agreements and advising on property matters the firm is able to offer particular expertise in the related aspects of disputes, employment law and financial advice.
Disputes are dealt with by Amanda Mehlin. Advice is also available from William Addis on employment matters and Amanda Custis on taxation whilst Valiant Financial Consultants has been established with the specific aim of providing financial advice to our clients.
