CWJ are taking up the Global Corporate Challenge, a corporate health initiative that runs over 16 weeks from 21 May 2010. Twenty –eight members of staff will be taking part with the aim of achieving 10,000 steps daily. Each team member is issued with a pedometer.
Research has shown that the average office worker walks only around 3,500 steps a day. By taking part in the GCC, we are helping to promote a fitter, healthier and more active lifestyle as well as it being a good way of promoting team work with a positive competitive spirit.
We have four teams altogether. On a daily basis each team member will insert their daily step count which will then be converted into a team distance. The team’s progress is then plotted along a virtual tour of the world. The more active each team is, the further around the world they go!
