CWJ held the glitzy and glamorous Summer Hollywood Ball on Saturday 5 July. Staff and their partners were invited to dine and dance at the black-tie event set at the Neo-Jacobean building, with its fine tradition and history dating as far back as 861AD.
On Sunday 31st August 2008, The Great British Duck Race will take place down a 1km stretch of the River Thames near Hampton Court Palace. The target is to race 250,000 ducks, breaking a new World Record and raise more than £500,000 for UK charities.
Accountants Vantis Plc recently challenged solicitors Clarkson Wright & Jakes LLP to a ‘friendly’ cricket match, which took place on Wednesday 2 July. Despite CWJ’s recent lack of success in sporting events, the challenge was accepted, probably based on the offer of a BBQ rather than any notions of victory!
The competition was held at Bromley’s magnificent Sundridge Park Golf Course which was founded in 1901. The Club boasts two championship standard eighteen-hole courses, over acres of stunning grounds less than seven miles from central London.
A group of CWJ lawyers attended the Bromley & District Law Society Annual Dinner held at the House of Commons on 6th June. The evening kicked off with drinks on the terrace overlooking the Thames. Despite the constant drizzle of rain we enjoyed stunning views across Central London and were keen to soak up the atmosphere.
