Combe In Safe Hands For Two More Years

At CWJ we are big rugby fans and originally sponsored Combe’s shirts back in 2005. As our Managing Partner Andrew Wright proudly says “Our relationship with Westcombe Park goes much deeper than just sponsorship; in fact many of our staff and their families are involved with the club in a variety of roles from minis to the first team!”

Westcombe Park was originally founded in 1904, and moved to Orpington in 1937 and now occupies 23 acres at Goddington Dene, next to Goddington Park. The 1st XV pitch has a covered 200 seated stand, and home matches regularly attract over 250 people, but this does not compare to the annual Mini Rugby Festival which has run since 1972, and sees crowds of 3-4,000 children and parents attending. Westcombe Park is also looking to the future by investing in the club; they are currently developing a brand new clubhouse which is on track to be completed later this year.

The club’s first XV currently play in the SSE National League 3 London & South, with the club as a whole playing a vital role in the local community by welcoming people of all ages and skill levels to join the club. They develop young players from the Mini’s (Aged 6-12), Junior’s (Aged 13-16) as well as The Academy (Aged 17-18’s) using coaches from within the club to develop these young players to play within the five senior teams.

Club President Malcolm Campbell commented; “It is fantastic that CWJ have agreed to continue sponsoring our shirts for another two seasons. CWJ are good friends of the club at so many levels and have been extremely helpful with some of the legal aspects of the development of our new clubhouse.”

There are plenty of other advertising and sponsorship opportunities available, which start from as little as £175.00 per season. You don’t have to be a business like us either, as many individuals or groups of friends and family often club together to sponsor a player or even a match.
