Passenger Injured in Turbulence Obtains Damages

Compensation has been secured for a woman who was injured when the flight she was on encountered strong turbulence.

She had stood up to go to the toilet when the pilot announced that there was a risk of turbulence, but before she could return to her seat, the aircraft suddenly dropped. She fell to the floor, injuring her foot. She also subsequently experienced pain in her chest.

She commenced a claim against the airline, which made a settlement offer. However, she was still experiencing symptoms that were affecting her ability to work, so further medical evidence was obtained in support of her claim.

Following negotiations, a settlement of just over £5,600 was agreed. Fortunately, she has made a full recovery from her injuries.
