Woman Injured in Car Park Hit-and-Run Obtains Compensation

A woman who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident in a supermarket car park has obtained substantial damages.

The driver had been involved in a violent confrontation before leaving in his car. He was driving recklessly through the car park and ran over the woman's foot. He subsequently received a prison sentence after pleading guilty to offences including dangerous driving.

The woman required surgery for the severe injuries she suffered. She was left with chronic pain syndrome and arthritis, and has needed ongoing treatment, including further operations. Her ability to work has also been significantly affected.

After she brought a claim against the driver, a settlement was reached and she obtained a six-figure sum in compensation. The settlement reflects the impact of her injuries on her life as well as her medical and care needs.
