Substantial compensation has been secured for a motorcyclist whose leg had to be amputated following a road traffic accident.
He was riding his motorbike when a car travelling in the opposite direction swerved into his lane, causing a collision. He suffered orthopaedic and psychological injuries, and his right leg had to be amputated above the knee.
He sought legal advice and commenced a personal injury claim. Interim payments were secured, allowing him to undergo surgery and take part in a prosthetics trial.
A wealth of medical evidence was obtained to establish his ongoing medical needs and, after a point was reached where his long-term prognosis could be assessed more accurately, his claim was settled for £3 million.
